SELECT Basketball Tryouts - Winter 2016/2017 Season

(Includes I-270 and Rising Star Programs)

IMPORTANT: The basketball tryout and selection process is the same as last year but has changed from previous years so please read the following details carefully prior to registering.

CSA Select Basketball includes both I270 and Rising Star leagues.  The CSA Select Basketball Registration fee is $325 (Online registration only, no checks or cash, no exceptions)

There is no separate “tryout” fee for the I270 or Rising Star programs for the 2016/2017 season as in years past.

The one time seasonal registration fee of $325 includes the 3 tryout dates as noted below, league fees, uniforms, gym time, etc.  There are no other fees to pay for participation.

Attending tryouts is mandatory if your son or daughter will be trying out for placement on an I270 or Rising Star team.  For information on how to join a RecPlus team without attending the Select tryouts, please see the section below on RecPlus registration information.

You must register and pay in full by September 14th, 2016 to be eligible to tryout for the 2016/2017 I-270 and Rising Stars basketball seasons.

Due to liability reasons, any participant not paid in full by September 14th will not be allowed to enter the gym for tryouts; you MUST pay the full registration fee online in advance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: While attendance at all 3 tryouts is not mandatory, players that attend all 3 tryouts can maximize their chances of being selected for an I-270 or Rising Star team.

In the event a player is  not selected for either a I-270 or a Rising Star team, they will automatically be selected for a CSA RecPlus team and their registration fee will be applied to the CSA RecPlus program.**  (All participants that attend the tryouts and are selected for a RecPlus team will receive a $175 refund)

Tryouts will be held on Thursday September 15th, Monday September 19th, and Thursday September 22nd at Clarksburg High School – Auxiliary Gym.

I-270 League

CSA Participates in the I-270 Sports Club Basketball League. Like the Rising Stars League, the I-270 League is also very competitive and has history of developing the future stars for high school and college programs. There are three teams having the following age groups:

  • Bantams - 9-10 years old (can't turn 11 before 9/1)
  • Juniors - 11-12 years old (can't turn 13 before 9/1)
  • Seniors - 13-14 years old (can't turn 15 before 9/1)

The coaches, with their assistant and independent evaluators, hold tryouts for the three age groups. Regular season games begin in mid November and playoff games are scheduled for March. The I-270 Sports Club has a separate Board of Directors that includes CSA representation. The CSA registration fee offsets the I-270 Sports Club fees, practice gym rental, uniforms, basketballs, and other operating costs.

See the information for Select basketball above for tryout details.

Players and parents must understand that I-270 has no "must play" rule. Although coaches are encouraged to play all players as much as possible, there are no minimum playing time guarantees. The I-270 league is very competitive and has a history of developing the future stars for high school and college programs. During the season, practices are 2-3 time per week.  Please see the I270 Parent Pledge
HERE.

Since I-270 does not distinguish between boys and girls, any girl who wants to try-out for the I-270 team for her age group is welcome to do so. Cost: $325  See the FAQ HERE!
